Reprints are specially printed pieces of articles (and, occasionally, advertisements) published in issues of Healthcare Purchasing News. The standard reprint is a near-exact reproduction of a particular article. All text and graphics associated with the article are used in the reprint. Page numbers, circle numbers and other things related to the publication of the article in a magazine format are not included. However, a tag line always is inserted at the end of each reprint, stating the magazine name and issue from which the article was reprinted. Reprinted articles always are reformatted to remove advertisements that appeared on the same pages as the article when published. Enhancements There are many options for enhancing a reprint and customizing it for a specific need. For example, a company may have its logo placed at the end of the reprint, along with information such as the company's mailing address, Web address, an e-mail address, phone and fax numbers, etc., as well as more detailed information about the company's products, services and history. A company advertisement (full page or smaller) may be added, too, as may company-supplied photographs, diagrams and charts. Other options include placing a magazine's logo at the top of the first page, using the appropriate magazine cover as the reprint's first page, or choosing a heavier paper stock for printing. Once printed, these pieces may be folded specially, three-hole punched for binding, or separated in groups using slip sheets or shrink wrap. Then they are boxed and shipped as directed. The standard turnaround time for a reprint is approximately two weeks, once all changes are approved and an order is completely set. A reprint can be turned around sooner, but then there is a rush charge dependent on how quickly it must be delivered. There is a minimum quantity of 500 required for printed reprints. Digital Reprints Two kinds of electronic files of a reprint may be purchased : a press-ready original PDF for use at any professional printing house, or a a PDF file suitable for posting on a Web site. Article Links Companies also have the option of creating links from their Web sites to articles of interest on the Web sites of Healthcare Purchasing News. Such links are free of charge. Order Reprints For more information on reprints, contact Reprints Manager Kris Russell at 941-927-9345 Ext. 203, or krussell@hpnonline.com.
