The special ink is immediately dry, waterproof, lightproof, resistant to atmospheric action, heat-resistant, and acid-resistant. No chemical or toxic substances are released during use. The marking withstands sterilization by steam, EO, FO, plasma and radiation. It is recommended to mark the see-through packages on the fill side and the wrapped sheets on tape.

48 hour incubation time to
only 24 hours. Now, STERRAD System customers can safely record biological indicator results in 50% less time, speeding up instrument throughput in the sterilization department. The product name is also changing to STERRAD CYCLESURE 24 Biological Indicator to reflect this time-saving improvement. A faster incubation period keeps sterilization departments moving efficiently as well as limiting the need to purchase duplicate instrument inventories.

InteguSeal Microbial Sealant IS 50 is the newest size addition to Kimberly-Clark’s InteguSeal line. Ideally suited for surgeries that involve smaller incision areas such as hands, feet and ankles, IS 50 offers the same InteguSeal formulation that helps reduce the risk of skin flora contamination throughout a surgical procedure. InteguSeal has a unique mechanism of action that does not promote bacterial resistance and does not need to be removed for suture or closure. Sterile O.R. clipper

With medical evidence indicating that shaving a surgical incision site increases the risk of postoperative infection, Medline announced the first single-use disposable MediClip Sterile O.R. Clipper to assist hospitals in becoming 100% razor free. The new sterile surgical clipper has an ergonomic handle designed to be held at a 30-degree angle so the clipper is flat against the patient’s skin. The result is a clipping technique where the moving blades on top are kept from contacting the skin, reducing the chance of nicking if there is a raise in the skin itself.
