Surgical lights

Mobile C-Arm

The FDA has granted Siemens Medical Solutions 510(k) clearance for the ARCADIS Avantic, a new mobile C-arm system suited for advanced imaging requirements in trauma and spine surgery, general surgery and urology, orthopaedic surgery and pain management, gastroenterology, and vascular surgery. Features include 20 kW of power, the strongest in the industry; up to 250 mA output, and a 13 inch image intensifier for a generous field of view. New design features include reduced weight, smaller footprint and easy movement.

Suture cart

Waterloo Healthcare’s new specialty medical cart is designed for medical personnel doing sutures and is ideal for use in emergency rooms or O.Rs. The Suture cart features two handy shelves designed to hold up to 18 boxes of sutures. These shelves are located above the surface area of the cart leaving plenty of storage space below. The cart is available in a variety of size, drawer, color and accessory options. The cart is constructed with newly redesigned bumpers and a stabilizer base, and has an ABS plastic molded top. A bumper prevents the cart from tipping in the event that all of the drawers are pulled out at the same time.

Instrument spray lubricant

Spectrum Surgical introduces Spectra-Lube, a 32 oz. spray lubricant designed to protect and lubricate surgical instruments. Spectra-Lube eliminates the need for costly and messy instrument baths, by allowing the user to put lubrication where it’s needed. This product is autoclavable and sells for $10.24 per bottle, or $93.50 for a case of 12 bottles.

Needle electrodes

MEGADYNE has added four new products to its 2-inch and 2.5-inch long MEGAfine needle line including two 45-degree angled electrodes of varying lengths; a 90-degree angled electrode; and a 6-inch extended electrode. One of the sharpest needle points available, MEGAfine needles are priced to be cost effective. MEGAfine needles are the only needles on the market with the patented, green E-Z Clean non-stick coating. Designed to cut and coagulate at lower power settings, the needles produce less thermal damage, reduced eschar build up and require fewer cleanings.

Bariatric furniture

The Pristo II Bariatric Recliner is designed with an overall weight capacity of 700-lbs. and an inside seat width of 28". The recliner’s back is infinitely adjustable within a limited range allowing for maximum patient comfort and ensuring that the patient can sit up without assistance. The seat also incorporates strong lumbar support. The footrest on recliner has three different positions, giving the patient different leg resting options to prevent reduced blood circulation. When in the sitting position, the footrest is back pitched so that patients can get their feet under the chair when exiting. Urethane arm caps provide patient comfort and reduce pressure sores.
