Vizient is changing up its annual spring conference

March 28, 2019

This year, the 2019 Vizient Connections Business Summit taking place April 2-5 in Las Vegas will offer something new, according to a recent Vizient Inc. release. The company says it has restructured the annual conference to encourage greater collaboration between members and suppliers – an estimated 1,800 people – with an agenda the GPO hopes will lead to greater understanding among the groups and a more cost-effective care delivery system.

“In addition to networking and educational opportunities, we will celebrate the many achievements of Vizient suppliers over the course of 2018 as they worked to improve the quality and lower the cost of care for our members,” said Jody Hatcher, Vizient’s president of supply chain services in the statement.

The company says the Vizient Connections Business Summit will include meetings for Vizient contracting member councils, supply chain and value analysis network, pharmacy network and analytics lab, and the Member|Supplier Connect, where attendees can interact with suppliers to address specific sourcing needs. It will also offer programming that maximizes opportunities for peer-to-peer networking, as well as joint educational sessions for hospital leaders and suppliers to explore what inspired them to enter the healthcare field.

Vizient also will host its annual Innovative Technology Exchange on Thursday, April 4, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The Exchange is a showcase of the latest in innovative healthcare technology designed to improve patient outcomes as well as improve patient or caregiver safety. Attendees can see up close approximately 100 new and innovative products from 84 suppliers and are encouraged to ask suppliers questions and offer feedback on products.

Keynote speakers for the event are Alexa Meade, acclaimed human body artist and Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw.
