Eliminating Clostridium difficile in an Inner-City Hospital via Novel Disinfection Technology

With a spike in concern surrounding C. difficile and C. auris infections arising throughout the US, hospitals have shown incredible results by enhancing outdated and inefficient disinfection methods with revolutionary new technologies.
A hospital in Wilmington, Delaware relied on bleach wipes, disinfectants, and a microfiber rag to address an active CDI HAI rate of ~7/10,000 patient days before looking to enhance their existing protocols with a new technology. This paper reviews pre- and post-intervention rates observed over the course of years after converting to a 7.8% hydrogen peroxide solution with the addition of curtains.
