2024 Measles Cases Now Total 128, Says CDC

Twenty jurisdictions are now reporting a total of 128 measles cases, up 7 cases from our last update two weeks ago.

As of April 26, 2024, a total of 128 measles cases were reported by 20 jurisdictions including:

  • Arizona
  • California
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Louisiana
  • Maryland
  • Michigan
  • Minnesota
  • Missouri
  • New Jersey
  • New York City
  • New York State
  • Ohio
  • Pennsylvania
  • Vermont
  • Virginia
  • Washington
  • West Virginia

In March, we reported that measles cases for the year grew to 64.

On April 17, we reported that measles cases for the year inflated that number to 121.

There have been 7 outbreaks (defined as 3 or more related cases) reported in 2024, and 67% of cases (86 of 128) are outbreak-associated. For comparison, 4 outbreaks were reported during 2023 and 48% of cases (28 of 58) were outbreak-associated.
