Calling abstracts for 2020 AHVAP Conference & Showcase

The Association of Value Healthcare Analysis Professionals (AHVAP) invites proposals of abstract presentations for their 17th Annual AHVAP Education Conference & Supplier Showcase, “Transformation Begins Here.” The event runs Oct. 21 to 23, 2020 at Embassy Suites by Hilton Scottsdale Resort in Scottsdale, AZ. The deadline for submissions is April 1, 2020.

They are looking for concurrent session presentations that are 30 or 60 minutes in length. Abstracts must be submitted electronically via the online form and all segments of the form must be completed. Submissions will be considered by the AHVAP Conference Planning Committee. Notification of acceptance will be sent in May.

The following criteria are used to evaluate abstracts:

·        Originality of work

·         Relevance or interest to AHVAP members

·         Quality, clarity and completeness of the abstract

·         Abstracts focusing on research findings will be evaluated on their potential significance to the discipline, soundness of the methodology, any empirical, data-based results and rigor

·         Abstracts covering research on current policy issues will be evaluated according to the soundness of the research method and the potential contribution to policy discussion

·         “Sales Pitch” presentations focused on a specific product, service or company will not be accepted.

Topics should fit the theme, “Transformation Begins Here”. Participants have indicated interest in:

·         VA Roles outside the walls of the hospital: homecare, wound care, LTC, etc.

·         Confirmation bias, muscle memory, change theory

·         Tools of the trade

·         Finance

·         Specific Initiatives

·         Data analytics, predictive analytics

·         Decision making case studies

Abstracts will be vetted utilizing an unbiased matrix by the Educational Development Committee and the CE provider.
