Johnson & Johnson MedTech launches new AI fund with NVIDIA and AWS to transform surgery.

According to a June 25 press release, Johnson & Johnson MedTech has launched the Polyphonic AI Fund for Surgery, a new initiative aimed at accelerating responsible development of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to enhance surgical care.

Partnering with NVIDIA and Amazon Web Services, the fund will support innovations that improve surgical outcomes before, during, and after procedures. The initiative will back projects in AI model development, data governance, and digital infrastructure, and will kick off with a QuickFire Challenge to identify and fund promising submissions from startups, academic institutions, and researchers.

This effort expands on Johnson & Johnson MedTech’s existing collaboration with NVIDIA, focusing on privacy-conscious surgical data analysis and enhancing operating room efficiency. The fund seeks to scale AI deployment globally through enriched datasets, collaborative model building, and a robust governance framework.

Early access to the Polyphonic Digital Ecosystem is currently available to select hospitals.
