Medtronic has agreed to acquire Scientia Vascular, a Utah-based developer of neurovascular access devices, in a transaction valued at $550 million. The deal is intended to strengthen Medtronic’s neurovascular portfolio, particularly technologies used to treat stroke and other cerebrovascular conditions.

Scientia Vascular develops guidewires and catheter-based access tools that enable clinicians to navigate the brain’s complex vascular pathways during minimally invasive procedures. Integrating these technologies with Medtronic’s existing therapeutic devices is expected to create a more comprehensive procedural platform for neurointerventional care.

The acquisition further expands Medtronic’s presence in the growing neurovascular market and reflects a broader trend of consolidation and platform development in stroke care technologies.
