Cost-saving MC Luminary HCF Cable
The MC Luminary HCF Cable from AFC Cable Systems combines electric lighting power and control circuits under a single interlocked armor for use with energy-saving LED and fluorescent lighting fixtures in healthcare applications as well as with dimming systems in patient areas. These enhancements reduce lighting costs by automatically turning off the lights when the room is not in use and can ensure the comfort of patients by providing an adjustable amount of light. Putting power and control under one armor can save up to 30 percent in labor and installation costs compared to traditional wiring methods. With a dual grounding path that enhances safety, MC Luminary HCF has been approved for use in patient care areas under NEC Article 517.

Siemens Healthineers released the new SOMATOM go.Up computed tomography (CT) system with automated, standardized workflows to help users reduce unwanted variations and achieve more consistent, profound clinical results at a lower total cost of ownership. Clinicians can control routine examinations utilizing only the tablet and remote, a feature that facilitates a new, mobile workflow whereby staff no longer need to move between scanner and control room and can remain with patients during scan preparation, potentially improving the patient experience. Standardized work steps permit users to run the scan with just a few inputs, and automated, zero-click post-processing enables efficient and consistent scanner operation. The scanner’s wide detector provides up to 64 slices, enabling more rapid CT scanning and some of the lowest radiation doses achievable for a CT of its class.
