Healthmark Industries now offers a new 12-Day Indicator Hangtime Label from its endoscopy product line. Designed as a visual reminder for healthcare workers, the label features a 12-day elapsed time indicator adhered to a blue 8.5 x 2.5-inch self-looping hangtime label, allowing for quick and ongoing observable clarification of how long it’s been since an endoscope has been reprocessed. To activate the indicator, firmly press the blister on the strip, and upon activation a safe dye migrates along a twelve-day display run-out window, which shows elapsed time (Accurate to within +/- 10%.).
A new diagnostic to measure severity of coronary artery blockages without stressing the heart has received clearance from the Food and Drug Administration. Abbot’s Resting Full-cycle Ratio (RFR) test was granted 510k clearance and is considered a significant advancement in assessing the severity of blockages in coronary arteries and determining if a coronary stent is necessary. The technology assesses the heart at rest while avoiding vasodilators, potentially reducing side effects, procedural time and cost compared to other diagnostic methods. The RFR is now available for purchase and via a software upgrade on Abbott’s QUANTIEN integrated measurement system.
