After rumors had been circulating all week that the HIMSS21 conference dates were going to move , the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) confirmed that the association’s HIMSS Annual Conference and Exhibition would be moved from early March, to August 9-13, 2021, in Las Vegas.
The website states, “As we all continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, the health and safety of the global HIMSS community, our employees and local residents of our conference location remain our top priority. That’s why we’re moving HIMSS21 to August 9-13, 2021.”
At this time, HIMSS expect that the 2022 HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition will return to the usual schedule, taking place in March 2022 in Orlando.
HIMSS stated they announced the new 2021 conference dates as soon as they were able to confirm the venue availability for August. Rescheduling the conference required many complicated logistics, and HIMSS staff worked to resolve those as quickly as possible so we could communicate the changes to you now.
As part of the online registration process, all paid attendee registrants received and agreed to terms and conditions including a written cancellation policy stating, “Should the 2020 HIMSS Global Health Conference be canceled, your registration fee will not be refunded, but will automatically be applied to the next HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition.” We can now reconfirm that all HIMSS20 paid registrants will be automatically registered for HIMSS21, August 9-13, 2021 in Las Vegas.
The association has reiterated that they are not currently offering refunds for HIMSS20 registration or optional event fees, as stated in the cancellation policy of the HIMSS20 attendee registration agreement. Also, per the terms and conditions of your HIMSS20 conference registration, registration and optional event fees are non-refundable and non-transferable to other individuals. We hope the extra lead time before the 2021 conference will help you accommodate our dates in August 2021.
HIMSS also has only offered a small percentage of exhibitor booth costs from the HIMSS20 conference to be used towards the HIMSS21 conference.
