UltraViolet Devices, Inc. (UVDI), a leading manufacturer of advanced UV-C air and surface disinfection technology, will introduce the new UVDI-GO UV LED Surface Sanitizer, designed for rapid, on-the-go disinfection of high-touch, shared surfaces and equipment, at the Association for Professionals in Infection Control (APIC) 2023 Annual Conference & Exposition in Orlando, Florida, June 26-28. The UVDI-GO provides 99.99% inactivation of common healthcare microorganisms in 20 seconds or less, portability and surface safety, enabling healthcare professionals to quickly disinfect shared surfaces as they work.
“There is clear evidence regarding the presence of high-risk microorganisms, such as C. difficile spores and MRSA, on high-touch, shared surfaces and equipment in the healthcare environment,”1 stated Dr. Ashish Mathur, Vice President of Innovation and Technology, UVDI. “The UVDI-GO UV LED Surface Sanitizer can help prevent the spread of microorganisms with fast, sporicidal disinfection that is efficient in use and safe for surfaces.”
Fast, Independently Proven Surface Disinfection
The UVDI-GO features patented, high-performance UV-C LED technology which has been independently proven to provide 99.99% inactivation of C. difficile spores in just 20 seconds and 99.999% inactivation of MRSA in only 10 seconds at four inches distance. This enables healthcare professionals to quickly disinfect surfaces and equipment between uses.
Portable, On-the-Go Use
The UVDI-GO is designed for durable, portable use, featuring cordless, battery-powered operation and lightweight compact design. A rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides 90 minutes of run time per charge for efficient, point-of-use surface disinfection.
Surface-Safe Disinfection
The UVDI-GO is safe for use on common healthcare surfaces and equipment - including tablets, smartphones, keyboards, workstations on wheels, remote controls, patient call buttons, and employee badges - enabling broad use throughout healthcare facilities.
Designed for User Safety
The UVDI-GO is equipped with an easy-to-attach protective cone, which shields users from UV exposure during operation. This allows healthcare professionals to safely operate the handheld UVDI-GO while wearing protective goggles and gloves.
“UVDI is committed to helping healthcare professionals reach their goal of better patient outcomes with innovative UV-C technology that pioneers new levels of performance,” added Peter Veloz, CEO, UVDI. “We believe the UVDI-GO advances this goal by making the disinfection of commonly shared surfaces faster, easier and safer.”
UVDI is a proud 2023 APIC Strategic Partner and attendees at this year’s conference can visit the UVDI booth (#951) to demo both the UVDI-GO UV LED Surface Sanitizer and the UVDI-360 Room Sanitizer with UV Smart Connect.
The UVDI-GO UV LED Surface Sanitizer is available for pre-order at www.uvdi.com and will begin shipping in early Fall 2023.
