CBIC announces new Executive Director

The Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC) has announced that Jessica Dangles, MS, PMP, is the new Executive Director. Under her leadership, CBIC will continue to assess and maintain infection prevention competency through the certification in infection prevention and control (CIC).

The announcement states that Dangles has extensive experience with non-profit organizations and measuring standards of excellence in healthcare. She began her career in certification at the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, working on the nurse licensure examination NCLEX. From there she accepted a position at the American Osteopathic Association, serving as the Certification Director for the American Osteopathic board of Family Physicians, Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics. Most recently, she was the Accreditation Standards Manager at the American College of Surgeons within the Division of Research and Optimal Patient Care.

Dangles has a Bachelor of Arts in Women and Gender Studies, a Master of Science in Human Resources, a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, and is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration with concentrations in Digital Marketing and Entrepreneurship. She believes certification is essential to patient safety and public protection and looks forward to working with the CBIC board and staff to positively impact infection and infection control practices.
