    N95 mask protection

    Avery Dennison Readi Mask N95 Respirator
    Avery Dennison announced an agreement with Global Safety First, LLC (GSF) to produce and distribute ReadiMask Self-Adhesive NIOSH-Certified N95 face masks to protect healthcare workers and patients. Made with electrostatic particle filtration properties, the ReadiMask adheres gently to the face with double-coated, skin-friendly adhesive and can form an air-tight seal while allowing filtration during inhalation and exhalation. The design eliminates tight straps or ties and uncomfortable metal nose clips. Production will begin shortly at Avery Dennison’s Mentor, Ohio facility pending NIOSH approval, with first shipments anticipated in June. The facility is FDA registered, ISO 13485 and MDSAP compliant. The masks will be available for purchase by hospitals, nursing homes and other healthcare facilities as well as group purchasing organizations and distributors nationwide exclusively through Avery Dennison Medical.

    CS Medical announced the distribution agreement with AirClean Systems to offer the UV Light Box for the decontamination of N95 respirators. The UV Light Box is available in two widths and provides the decontamination of N95 respirators in a total cycle time of 60 minutes, 30 minutes per side. Shortwave UV light has been used for years to decontaminate surfaces.

    SC Johnson Professional’s Kindest Kare Advance Antimicrobial Foaming Handwash is used for healthcare worker handwashing and disinfection in all clinical settings. Designed for frequent use, Kindest Kare Advanced is clinically proven to kill up to 99.9999% of many common organisms, including MDRO’s such as Acinetobacter baumanni, CRE, MRSA and VRE. The handwash’s fragrance-free, dye-free foaming formula contains .50% Benzalkonium chloride and is specially formulated with moisturizer to prevent dry skin. It was tested in accordance with the 1994 and 2015 FDA proposed clinical methods for Healthcare Personnel Handwash.

    Rheonix Encompass M Dx Workstation Open

    Rheonix Inc. announced that it has received Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the Rheonix COVID-19TM MDx Assay test. The test enables detection of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, directly from respiratory samples. It operates on the fully automated Rheonix Encompass MDx workstation, is ideal for use in low to medium-throughput laboratories and enables same-day results for healthcare facilities. Rheonix has begun shipment of the workstation and test kits to high-need hospital laboratories. The test has not been FDA cleared or approved. It has been authorized for use by authorized laboratories.
