Vizient receives four-year accreditation continuing education status from Joint Accreditation

Jan. 20, 2021

Vizient, Inc. announced it received a four-year accreditation status from Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE), the gold standard process for continuing education (CE) activities for medical professionals.

The accreditation marks achievement in compliance with all core criteria and is valid through July 2024.

Obtaining IPCE accreditation status assures health professionals and the public that CE offerings meet the standards of Joint Accreditation’s sponsoring organizations. Vizient is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, and the American Nurses Credentialing Center. In 2020, Vizient provided 596 continuing education courses, and members received 23,031 hours of accredited continuing education.

“Vizient is pleased to be part of a group of organizations in the United States and throughout the world, including major medical schools, national medical associations, hospitals, and other medical education organizations that have been awarded this accreditation status,” said Cindy White, vice president, methodology and programming for Vizient. “Our program improves members’ clinical and supply chain performance and patient outcomes through the development and implementation of high quality and effective educational activities.”
