Majestic Residences announce all franchises to seek Joint Commission Assisted Living Community accreditation

Oct. 1, 2021

The Joint Commission and Majestic Residences announced that each of Majestic Residences’ franchises will seek Joint Commission Assisted Living Community (ALC) accreditation to achieve the Gold Seal of Approval. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a healthcare organization’s commitment to providing safe and quality care.

Majestic Residences is a franchise system of residential care homes across the United States. Its ALC locations are expected to begin the accreditation process in late 2021 to demonstrate the organization’s ongoing commitment to provide safe and quality care to its residents.

Joint Commission accreditation helps healthcare organizations identify known or unknown risks through a meaningful assessment of compliance with its accreditation standards. The standards focus on important processes and organizational functions that are essential to providing safe and quality patient care.

The Joint Commission’s ALC accreditation program, launched on July 1, helps assisted living organizations deliver consistent and reliable care for residents. The accreditation program’s standards address the environment, staffing, emergency management, dementia care, medication management, provision of care and services, process improvement and more.

Additionally, the ALC accreditation program requires organizations to track and report on five standardized performance measures, including Off-Label Antipsychotic Drug Use, Resident Falls, Resident Preferences and Goals of Care, Advance Care Plan/Surrogate Decision Maker and Staff Stability.
