Supporting Future Healthcare Supply Chain Leaders: The Bellwether League Foundation Initiatives
The Bellwether League Foundation (BLF), through its Philanthropy and Professional Development Committees, supports the growth of current and future healthcare supply chain leaders. It does this through educational initiatives like the Collegiate Capstone Project, which began in 2022 and involves students presenting solutions to supply chain challenges, and through newly launched scholarships in 2024.
The Capstone Project invites college students, with faculty advisors, to compete for grants by researching and presenting solutions to real-world issues. Participating schools include the University of Michigan, University of Arkansas, and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
BLF also introduced three named scholarships in 2024:
- Jamie C. Kowalski Scholarship – focuses on leadership development and succession planning.
- Robert A. Simpson Scholarship – highlights mentoring and career development.
- Lillian R. Matiska Scholarship – supports entrepreneurial efforts in healthcare operations.
Both students and professionals are eligible to apply. More details and applications are available through BLF directly.
