DHL Expands Final-Mile Capabilities with SDS Rx Acquisition

The deal adds over 200 U.S. locations to DHL’s network, boosting its final-mile and healthcare logistics capabilities
Nov. 10, 2025

DHL Supply Chain has completed its acquisition of SDS Rx, a U.S.-based provider of final-mile delivery and healthcare transportation services. The move strengthens DHL’s position in the life sciences and healthcare logistics sector by integrating SDS Rx’s 200-plus locations into its existing network. Operations will continue under local leadership while integration efforts aim to maintain service quality and expand capabilities.

DHL CEO Mark Kunar emphasized that the acquisition will improve the company’s ability to serve healthcare providers and patients with better precision and care.

The deal was first announced in September.

Though typically the shortest leg in the journey, final-mile delivery can account for large shipping costs due to challenges like multiple stops, traffic, and unpredictability. Through this acquisition, DHL is integrating a dense U.S. final-mile system network into its global logistics system.
