Johnson & Johnson announced it will invest more than $1 billion to expand and modernize its Vision manufacturing and supply chain operations in Jacksonville, Fla.

The investment includes a new state-of-the-art distribution facility as well as advanced manufacturing and packaging technologies to increase production capacity and meet growing demand for ACUVUE contact lenses. J&J manufactures more than 1.7 billion ACUVUE lenses annually for U.S. patients.

Construction is underway with the new facility expected to be fully operational by 2028. The announcement is part of J&J’s broader $55 billion U.S. investment plan in manufacturing, R&D, and technology through early 2029.
