Providence Health Care System has named Amanda Chawla as its new chief supply chain officer, effective Aug. 24. Chawla joins Providence from Stanford Medicine, where she served as senior vice president, chief supply chain and post-acute care officer.
In her new role, Chawla will oversee Providence’s supply chain strategy and operations, with a focus on strengthening supply resilience, improving operational performance, advancing innovation and supporting caregivers across the health system’s footprint.
Chawla brings extensive healthcare supply chain leadership experience, including responsibility for enterprise supply chain initiatives centered on digital transformation, operational improvement and nonlabor expense management during her tenure at Stanford Medicine. Prior to Stanford, she held executive leadership roles at Marin Health and other healthcare organizations spanning clinical operations, strategy, business development and support services.
Chawla succeeds Dave Walker, who retired after serving as Providence’s senior vice president and chief supply chain officer since 2016. During Walker’s tenure, Providence expanded its focus on supply chain effectiveness, clinical partnerships and operational improvements.
