Instrumentum Announces Acquisition of Two Sterile Processing Companies
Instrumentum has announced their acquisitions of Sterile Processing Express (SPDx) and Sterile Processing Services of America (SPSA). BusinessWire has the news.
These acquisitions “expand Instrumentum’s footprint to five facilities across four states.” The company aims to help SPD facilities “broaden and retool…amidst budgetary concerns, limited space, staffing challenges, and outdated equipment.” This is especially important in the wake of “increased demand for elective surgeries.”
Instrumentum says that “instrument manufacturers benefit greatly from better asset management, real-time tracking, and increased utilization rates, often two to three times higher than the current standards of instrument set lifecycles.” Jeff Eardley, chief commercial officer at SPDx, says that Instrumentum’s business model aims to bring “healthcare providers and surgical instrument manufacturers together as partners.”
The president of Instrumentum says that the company’s goal is to combine “superior logistics with best-in-class sterilization processes” to offer a “transformative solution to an overlooked but critical process in healthcare.”
