Metrex surface disinfectants are EPA approved as effective against SARS-CoV-2

Metrex announced that its eight surface disinfectant products are approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and on the EPA list N for use against SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19.

The claim was approved based on third-party laboratory testing results, according to EPA Product Performance Test Guidelines Disinfectants for Use on Environmental Surfaces, Guidance for Efficacy Testing (OCSPP810.2200).

CaviWipes and CaviCide surface disinfectant products clean and disinfect hard, non-porous, inanimate surfaces and non-critical medical device surfaces in hospitals, laboratories and other clinical care environments. Formulated to kill a broad spectrum of bacteria, viruses and pathogenic fungi quickly and efficiently, CaviWipes and CaviCide branded products support kill times from one to three minutes.

Additionally, CaviWipes 2.0 are fully qualified for the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Emerging Viral Pathogen Claim, which indicates that it meets current and future infection prevention needs for all virus types, including enveloped, large and small non-enveloped viruses. The multi-purpose disinfectant wipes have a two-minute universal contact time for one-step cleaning and disinfection of hard, non-porous surfaces in healthcare settings. CaviWipes 2.0 is on the EPA’s List N as a disinfectant for use against SARS-CoV-2.
