Premier offers HHS a path forward for a sustainable public health supply chain

April 8, 2021

Premier stated it submitted comments to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) in response to Executive Order 14001, which directs federal agencies to develop a strategy to design, build, and sustain a long-term capability in the U.S. to manage future pandemics and biological threats.

Premier was invited by ASPR to present these ideas on domestic manufacturing during an April 5 private sector meeting held by its Divisions of Strategy and Critical Infrastructure Protection.

In its comments, Premier provides detailed recommendations on how Congress and the administration can incentivize domestic manufacturing and strengthen the strategic national stockpile (SNS) to position the nation to respond to future global pandemics.

Premier, Inc. has the release.
