GHX and Mobile Health collaborate to offer rapid respirator fit testing

Oct. 21, 2020

Global Healthcare Exchange, LLC (GHX) announced it is collaborating with Mobile Health to provide Respirator Fit Tests (RFTs) across the U.S. as part of its Vendormate Credentialing solution.

This collaboration is centered around simplifying access to Respirator Fit Testing to help protect vendor representatives while onsite at healthcare facilities. The GHX Mobile Health Vendor Testing Requisition website supports same-day appointment confirmation, accelerating fit testing for personal protective equipment (PPE) such as N95 masks.

In addition to seven clinics in New York City, Mobile Health has national partnerships with more than 2,700 urgent care and local healthcare providers. This joint effort enables Mobile Health to harness GHX’s healthcare business network and extend Respirator Fit Tests to thousands of additional vendor representatives.

“Supporting safety and compliance when accessing medical facilities has long been a part of our mission, but COVID-19 has escalated this need,” said Chrystie Leonard, General Manager, Credentialing and Managed Services, GHX. “Our relationship with Mobile Health will provide our customers guidance on where they can go for testing and help them return to healthcare facilities to resume operations.”

Respirator Fit Tests are a vital part of workplace safety, designed to reduce exposure and transmission of aerosol transmissible diseases including the coronavirus. During the fit test, an individual wears a respirator such as an N95 mask and the tester applies a series of test agents to indicate the level of sensitivity for each candidate, then a more concentrated agent is used to assess if the mask is properly sealed with the face of the wearer. Results are typically made available via encrypted email either the same day or the following business day. Upon receipt of test results, individuals may upload their attestation that they completed their fit test to their Vendormate profile.

“Mobile Health has always been deeply committed to workplace safety and there has never been a more critical time for this,” said Mobile Health CEO Andrew Shulman. “This relationship with GHX extends our ability to deliver on our commitment.”
