The investments began in 2024 and are meant to continue through 2028. The total investment hadn’t been disclosed until now. The aim is to help business stay adaptable to changing macroeconomic pressures and supply chain disruptions globally.

A tech-enabled logistics center in Taiwan and a supply chain solutions facility in Amsterdam have been launched at this point. The logistics center has increased the total supply chain speed by a day. Scott Szwast, UPS’s vice president of international strategy, said that certain global markets are becoming more important for companies than they were before as global supply chains grow more complicated.

UPS previously announced a $48 million investment into temperature-controlled facilities to supplement healthcare initiatives, including the shipment of temperature-sensitive medications. Cold-chain storage is in higher demand. Companies, meanwhile, are innovating new products with new shipping needs at rates not seen before.
