July 22, 2019

LeeSar/CSF has announced certification from DNV GL Healthcare for their Sterile Processing Program with Lee Health. LeeSar, the 2017 Healthcare Purchasing News Sterile Processing Department of the Year says it is the first off-site Sterile Processing center in the country to receive this certification.

“DNV GL certification provides affirmation that we have the resources and commitment to provide the best possible care for our surgical patients,” says Scott Kashman, Chief Acute Care Officer at Lee Health, in the statement. “It’s a combination of the right partnerships, processes, equipment, personnel and training to exhibit excellence in sterile processing. Certification is not a requirement. Achieving certification validates all the effort put into this program to ensure the health and safety of our patients.”

The DNV GL Healthcare Sterile Processing Program Certification is based on standards set forth by the DNV GL Healthcare standard and adherence to guidelines of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) and the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) and affirms that the organization addresses the full spectrum of sterile processing and establishes clear metrics to evaluate outcomes.
