Key Surgical launches new education platform

Key Surgical LLC, a provider of sterile processing, operating room and endoscopy supplies, launches a new education platform that expands on their educational offerings making it even easier for sterile processing techs, managers and educators to obtain continuing education accredited by IAHCSMM and CBSPD.

Key Surgical has been offering virtual learning courses since 2015. In 2018 alone they had over 15,000 CE hours completed across their 11 courses. With over 10,000 CE hours in 2019 so far, they are well on their way to outpace 2018.

Brandon VanHee, CRCST, CER, CHL, GTS, Clinical Education Manager at Key Surgical explains, “Sterile processing professionals work hard each day to positively affect surgical outcomes and still take the time to for improving themselves through education; that’s what motivates us to keep improving as well.”

The new platform allows users to save their progress so they can return later to complete a course, it also suggests relevant courses using artificial intelligence (AI), and archives personalized certificates making it easy for a user to retrieve and submit CE documentation for recertification. The platform also launches with a Key Surgical Education app that allows users to take classes, quizzes, and access documents on the go. Along with the new platform Key Surgical has added new classes on Endoscope Reprocessing and Microbial Biofilms.

In addition to their digital education, Key Surgical speaks about patient safety through excellence in reprocessing at regional and national conferences. In 2018 over 8,000 sterile processing professionals received in person education through Key Surgical.
