2019 data submission dates for the AHRQ Surveys on Patient Safety Culture (SOPS) Databases

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) Surveys on Patient Safety Culture (SOPS) Databases will open this year for voluntary data submission for the following healthcare settings:

• Ambulatory Surgery Center Survey on Patient Safety Culture: June 3 – July 22

AHRQ developed the Ambulatory Surgery Center Survey on Patient Safety Culture in response to interest from ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) in assessing patient safety culture in their facilities. This survey is designed specifically for ASC staff and asks for their opinions about the culture of patient safety in their facility.

• Medical Office Survey on Patient Safety Culture: September 3 – October 21

AHRQ sponsored the development of the Medical Office Survey on Patient Safety Culture in response to requests for a survey in this setting. This survey is designed specifically for outpatient medical office providers and other staff and asks for their opinions about the culture of patient safety and healthcare quality in their medical offices.

Participating facilities will receive an individual feedback report and summary report displaying their results as well as aggregated results from all database participants. The SOPS Databases contain data from those facilities choosing to submit their SOPS survey data.
