Anthem study finds more employers are integrating healthcare benefits due to better health outcomes, lower costs and more satisfied employees
Employers of all sizes are realizing the benefits of integrating employee health benefits (medical, pharmacy, dental, vision and/or disability) under their employer’s health and wellness programs. According to Anthem Inc.’s latest biennial Integrated Health Care report, over the next five years, more than 71 percent off employers with 100-plus employees surveyed are currently or planning to integrate benefits because they say the effort delivers better care, happier employees, and greater financial savings.
Cost savings and administrative impact are still top concerns among employers but fostering and maintaining a healthier and more satisfied staff are also increasingly important in the decision to integrate benefits, the study showed. Other findings: integrated health care benefits are attractive to potential employees seeking comprehensive compensation packages and they can help to reduce turnover.
