Healthcare professionals say they are too busy to read up on healthcare policy changes and updates so the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) gave them “CMS: Beyond the Policy,” a new podcast that delivers the information in a conversational format. CMS says they developed the podcast to better inform stakeholders of the agency’s policies and programs.
“This program is a direct response to stakeholders’ suggestions that a podcast would be a modern, user-friendly way to stay informed about CMS,” said CMS Administrator Seema Verma in a prepared statement.
The first episode, available in a few days for download on iTunes and Google Play, will focus on Evaluation and Management Coding (E/M Codes) which will detail finalized changes in the Calendar Year 2019 Physician Fee Schedule (PFS), including important modifications to how clinicians document office and outpatient visits billed to Medicare.
