AAMC releases guide to COVID-19 tests and testing
The AAMC announced it has issued a guide to COVID-19 tests and testing to dispel myths and misperceptions.
Months after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the United States still lacks a solid national testing strategy with specific targets for the number and types of tests that should be conducted every day in order to track the spread of the virus and safely keep open the nation’s schools, businesses, and public spaces.
In this guide, the AAMC Research and Action Institute addresses the most common questions about the different types of tests for COVID-19, when each type of test should be used, and what they mean both for individuals and the nation as we grapple with how to move forward through the pandemic.
The guide is a complement to previously released guidelines issued by the AAMC, The Way Forward on COVID-19: A Road Map to Reset the Nation’s Approach to the Pandemic.
