Sharp HealthCare taps Medpricer to bring operational transparency to its supply chain

Dec. 17, 2019

Medpricer announced its latest partnership with San Diego-based Sharp HealthCare. Sharp includes four acute care hospitals, three specialty hospitals, three affiliated medical groups, 22 clinical care centers and a health plan. Sharp has launched a concerted effort to accelerate its purchased services strategy and increase control over operating expenses.

With the help of Medpricer’s GPO-agnostic purchased services lifecycle management software, Sharp plans to increase standardization within purchased services operations to improve its system of record and spend transparency. Sharp selected Medpricer for its comprehensive product roadmap and scope of its sourcing expertise and best practices.

“Medpricer’s comprehensive purchased services software will support Sharp HealthCare’s standardization and savings efforts,” said Mickey Meehan, Medpricer’s Chief Customer Officer. “Our customers consistently negotiate stronger contract terms on purchased services that touch every aspect of clinical and non-clinical care with the goal of benefiting both staff and patients.”

Medpricer’s platform, mSource, will provide Sharp with sourcing automation via its Analytics, Contract Intelligence and Negotiate modules. Sharp joins other healthcare providers with the Category Co-op, a benchmarking forum created for Medpricer customers.
