Life sciences virtual reality visits

New virtual visits from Ecolab Inc. help life sciences teams proactively address cleaning and disinfection challenges. Team members can virtually connect to remote Ecolab scientists, engineers and cross-functional teams located anywhere in the world using a Microsoft HoloLens 2 device and running Microsoft Dynamics 365 Remote Assist. The experts can provide technical support and documentation in augmented reality to help the on-site team members wearing the device see solutions to deliver resolution faster, review manufacturing operations and recommend and implement site-specific cleaning programs to help prevent common issues that lead to downtime and associated costs. Additionally, mixed-reality tools can provide immersive training experiences and live instruction.

Cloud-based Bluetooth asset tracking

A cloud-based, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) asset tracking system by Midmark RTLS can be deployed in new and existing healthcare facilities to provide asset visibility across health systems, tracking assets that move between facilities. The web-based software, viewable on computers and tablets, was designed to give nurses and biomedical technicians location data at their fingertips. The new BLE sensors, which can be combined with the company's existing wired real-time locating system (RTLS) hardware, offer near room-level precision (within three meters). The sensors can be deployed within days, without disruption to patient care. The new family of BLE asset tags includes the small footprint Micro BLE Asset Tag, which can be used with smaller mobile devices, such as telemetry packs.
